Tribute To A Friend

I will keep this one short because I don't need to go into all of the details. Last night while on our way to Georgia, we pulled over to give Chico a potty break. He for some reason ran across the highway before I could stop him and was hit by a semi truck. He was was gone instantly. He was a part of our family that cannot be replaced. All that we can do is hope that someday he can be with us again.

This is one of my most favorite songs.

I added just a few pictures to the music to make it a little more interesting.

And yes I'm blogging it because of the video that Dad Elton sent us kids of the puppeteer, which reminded me of this song.

Our day at the Horse Race!

Yesterday, one of the families interested in the house, invited us to the race tracks that are connected to a big casino. The husband is a professional jockey at 5'5" weighing 125 lbs with his gear and saddle. It was exciting to see him come in first multiple times with the attending patrons cheering for their horse of choice. We sat in the VIP section with all of the big Texan high rollers. It was an ethereal experience similar to what might be seen in a movie. Some of the horses names were quite comical while others were slightly offensive or obscene. "Beaner Beaner" caught my attention. If I was a betting man, all of my Pesos would have been on that horse. We were also invited to go down to the track and take this picture with Freddy and his family after he won. If all goes well, this family will be the new owners of our house. They made us an offer today that is only a little lower than what we posted. We have had lots of traffic lately since we had an open house with all the Realtors. Once people found out about us getting an offer, traffic almost doubled. I just had a Realtor come by right now while typing. With the market as bad as it is, someone out there must have heard our prayers.

I'm a Missionary!

I went on splits for the first time a long while ago, and loved it so much that I signed up for it when ever I could. I also was their fallback person if someone canceled. I had some awesome experiences and it really helped me get over my fear of talking to strangers. This is Sister Beck, me, and Sister Allred. They came by yesterday to find out when we were leaving because they wanted a picture of our family. They read my mind because I wanted to do the same thing too! They are totally awesome, and I love them to death! I'll miss them!

Elder Dallin H. Oaks

We had Stake Conference yesterday, and our guest speaker was none other than Elder Dallin H. Oaks! It was such a wonderful experience. I even got to shake his hand as he made his round around the room to say hi to everyone. He is an incredible apostle with such a happy demeanor. The change in the room was noticeable the minute he came in. His message was to "Speak Up!" about our faith. To not hide it, but let the world know of our faith, and to also not let worldly possession get in the way of family or whats truly important. He shared some funny jokes as well, for example he heard that someone had ask one of the other apostle who was 90 something years old how it is being that old. The apostle responded, "I don't buy green bananas anymore". Thankfully I have such a wonderful husband because try as we might we still didn't get to the Stake Building until half an hour before it was to start and unfortunately the only seats that were available was way in the back. So Shaun went up to the ushers and asked if there were some people who wouldn't mind squeezing over. Luckily there were so I was able to read the apostle's lips and understand his talk. It was fabulous!

Bumbo for the Babyo

I thought I'd try a bumbo with Ian since the high chair is packed away permanently and I need something more upright to feed him in. What are your thoughts on this product? Is it worth it?
I have been trying to get a bumbo for Ian through craigslist since they are on the expensive side if I buy them straight out, but no real luck so far.

Yummy in my tummy

Ian is eating so well! He knows to open his mouth now without any help from me. For keepsake purposes I wanted to take a picture of his first real food, butternut squash! Yum, Yum!

I'm every woman, Its all in meeeeee!!

Shaun decided to come out of the closet and embrace his feminine side.

Reality: he just painted the garage floor and didn't want to ruin it so he borrowed my shoes to keep the damage minimal.
