Christmas is over

As soon as Christmas was over we took down everything. We needed to do it soon because we decided to go with a realtor and she is going to throw an Open House next Thursday. So we wanted to be prepared and have the house in tip top shape.
Here's Shaun burning the our tree.

Merry Christmas!

Tribute!

Let us not forget why we celebrate Christmas.

Don't Open 'Till Christmas

Izzy had this book full of ideas for kids to do, and doing a box outfit was what she wanted today. Instead of regular wrapping paper I thought I'd use christmas paper and turn her into a present. She of course loved it.

Food Face

I've started feeding Ian his rice cereal in hope that he'll get a fuller tummy and start sleeping through the night. No luck so far, but he really is taking to it like a champ.

Sticker Palooza

Isabel has a container full of foam stickers and crowns that she likes to play with. She made one for Mommy, and for herself. While we were watching a movie she proceeded to take off the stickers on her crown and put them on Ian. You can only see the ones on his cheek but she had them all over the back of his head. I honestly didn't know what she was doing until after she had quite a few sticking to Ian's head.

Little Boy Blue & His Daddy Too

Here are my two sweetest boys. Shaun was helping me out by holding Ian so I could cook and I recommended the Snugli so he could hold him and play his 360 at the same time.
Of course Ian had to fall asleep and of course I had to take a picture because he is just too cute!
You can't really tell with the camera but he had a drool pool going with a string attached from his lips to the Snugli.

"Here Comes Santa Clause"

So here is our Santa picture of the year. These were taken by my best friend in our Ward at our Ward Christmas party. I just wasn't thinking and forgot to bring our camera, so luckily Cariss had hers. Isabel was just a little uncomfortable with sitting on his lap. She knows who Santa is, and she always yell out "there's Santa!" when ever she sees a picture of him. For some reason she was just really nervous. Ian was completely out of it. The last picture of Ian and Shaun we had to take because Ian didn't wake up a bit and sort of just slumped over when Shaun handed him down to me from the stage. He is just so cute!

"I wanna Booowwwwl Tonight"

Izzy went bowling for the first time tonight. Shaun's friend from work invited us to go bowling with him and the Bowling place had this metal ramp for Isabel to lift the ball up on and then she just pushes it down. She had an absolute blast!! She kept getting down on the floor and yell for the ball to keep going, then whether she hit one pin or all 10 pins she would jump up and down and want to give high fives. She just loved it!
Bonus points if someone can tell what movie song "I wanna booowwwl tonight" comes from.
Hint: M.F. (initials of the actress) sings in this movie, wearing a pink jacket.

Oh! Christmas Tree, Oh! Christams Tree!

Our camera isn't doing our tree justice!! Oh well, it's actually very beautiful and simple in real person. It's a mixture of red, gold, and a bit of a peach color.
So lets see them people! Lets see those trees!

Here Is Why It's Been A While

It has been a long while since we've posted. Here's why. You all know by now that Shaun has orders to report to Ft. Benning, Georgia. He is to be an instructor of some sort in a Basic Camp 2 kind of thing. It is an actual requirement that Shaun pass all physical requirements since he will have to be able to run and keep up the pace of twenty year old. So because of this we are frantically trying to get the house fixed, staged, and marketable. Let me tell you, we have never been so stressed!! We put our for sale sign up in front, and crossed our fingers. We were really hoping to not use a realtor since they take such a big chunk of our hard earned profit, but the house market is so bad right now we were starting to think we were going to have to. Ah, but wait! Our next door neighbor's Mom saw we were selling, and wanted to know how much, and if she could see the house. Our neighbor's Aunt is coming back from Guam to live in El Paso and needs a house. While the Mom was touring our home she had her sister on the phone and Shaun heard her say in Spanish how beautiful and fabulous our home was. So, long story short, the sister asked Shaun if he could kind of hold onto the house for us until she can get a loan at our High bid amount! We won't find out till end of this week, or later if she is approved. So say your prayers for us because we certainly need them.

Ian's 1st Haircut

Here's the before picture.
For those who remember, there's the bald spot that babies get from lying on their back. It was driving Shaun nuts seeing the long hair underneath Ian's bald spot. So, after Shaun gave himself a high-in-tight haircut he wanted to give Ian one too.

And here's my beautiful baby boy after his 1st haircut, looking just like his Daddy!

By the way I vidoe tapped the haircut but the Blog won't read the videos we make from our digital camera. Any suggestions on how to put camera videos on our blog?

Being A Big Sister

Scenario: Mom gets up off the couch to go make breakfast with Ian in her arms.
Isabel: Can I hold Ian?
Mom: You want to hold Ian?! (with an incredulous voice)
Isabel: Yeah! (nodding her head enthusiastically)
Mom: Okay.
Isabel: I love Ian.
Mom: You're such a good sister!
So of course I had to take a picture to show the kids when they start to fight and yell at each other "I hate you!" that once, the two of them where in perfect harmony.

It's Snowing in El Paso!!

You can't see it in the picture but there where lots of snowflakes coming down for at least a good hour. It was totally awesome and unexpected!

Happy Thanksgiving

So, I got up early Wednesday morning to start the apple and pumpkin pie. I also started the bread for the stuffing, and put the 20 pounds turkey in its brine for the night. By the time I was finished I had to get dinner ready for the Missionaries. Then early Thursday morning I started the rolls, and popped those into the oven. I started the cranberry sauce on the stove, and started prepping the turkey for the oven. Of course I had to burn at least one item, and that was the rolls. Oh well. I put the turkey in the oven, and poured the hot scalding cranberry sauce in the blender to puree, and proceed to scald myself with some nasty burns up my arm. I'm okay but it hurt really bad!! Plus cranberry sauce ended up all on the floor, walls, refrigerator door, everywhere! My poor sweet husband took an hour to clean it all up while I went to the store to buy rolls to replace the burnt ones. After I got back I started the yams, then the mashed potatoes, and finished the stuffing. I prepared the salad, got the turkey out and resting. Cooked the sweet potatoe casserole with pecans and marshmallows (YUM!), put in the stuffing, and started the turkey gravy. I finally got everything put on our island in the kitchen by 6:00 pm. Unfortunately I kept forgetting to take a picture of the feast. That's why I did such a detailed version of what I did for our El Paso Thanksgiving Feast. All in all it was delicious, with plenty left overs for those yummy cold turkey sandwiches.

In Honor of Our Veterans

I want to let everyone know that I am proud of my husband for what he does for our country. I am so grateful for all soldiers who made a promise to sacrifice their own lives so our country may stay free.

I love you, Shaun!

Just click on the picture above and do the questionaire to see if you agree with Shaun's profile of himself. After you move the sliding bar click on the lower right part of the picture to move to next question.
