Trip to Georgia Aquarium back in May

Back in May we wanted to check out the Georgia Aquarium. We had no idea what we were in for. When we got in we had quite a shock. Apparently the Georgia Aquarium is the world’s largest aquarium with 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water, and more than 100,000 animals representing 500 species from around the globe. It was fantastic! Except for one thing and that was we managed to somehow visit during some huge multi school field trip. We had to squeeze our way through to get close to some of the exhibit. Maybe if Mom and Dad Elton are still planning on coming to visit we can go up again without the crowd.

The front entrance had this wall that kept changing colors. You can't tell in the picture, but this place was HUGE!
Of course Ian was completely captivated by the swimming fishes.
This place was really kid oriented. Tons of stuff for kids to do like crawl through a tunnel so you can look up into the aquarium.
They of course had one of those glass tunnels that you walk through.
Did I mention they had not one, but FOUR whale sharks!
Izzy is just the best sista ever! She loves her baby brother.
Afterwards we crossed the street to this big huge park they built especially for the Olympics. It had two awesome playgrounds, big huge grass field with statues, and lots of fountains. This was one of them that you could run through and splash around. Its just like the one in SLC at the Gateway Mall. It was in the late 80's so we all joined in to cool off.
Izzy's gotten into some weird stage of making strange poses and faces at the camera now. It's cute, but wish she would just be normal sometimes!

Yes, we are still here...

We are still alive and kicking. Just been unmotivated to blogg lately. I don't know why, just that any free time I have I end up doing other things and run out of time for the blog. At least I'm caught up with my reading. If you want a good one read Stephanie Meyer's Host. It's the kind of book that you want to take into your closet with a flashlight and read till you pass out (or til the kids find you). Another fun summer read would be Turn Up the Heat by Jessica Connant-Park and Susan Connant. Its a food mystery book with some fabulous recipes in the end that I plan on trying soon.

50 Calibers of Awesomeness

One of the perks of my new job as a Cadre Instructor here is that after the days training is done, I get to shoot off extra ammo when we go to the ranges to "burn up excess rounds". Doing so is a much easier process than turning the stuff back in. I especially like this 50 Caliber Machine Gun mounted off a Hummvee. My right arm was badly bruised after going through a box in a half of extra M203 Grenade Launcher rounds.

Memorial Weekend

We are leaving today for Savannah, GA. We wanted to take advantage of Shaun's four day weekend, since they don't come very often. I'll post the pictures of the trip and of our last two trips that I have yet to post when I get back. Meanwhile here are my two pride and joys! Is it weird that the two of them take baths together? They both have a blast splashing each other and playing with the toys together it seems harmless. Either in the bath or out these two are inseparable! Ian constantly follows Isabel around and wants to do the same thing she does. Isabel is just glad that someone will play with her more. She does get a little tired of him and want just mommy time here and there, but every night she wants to curl up right next to Ian and put her arms around him. They are going to be such best buddies growing up!

I have to admit that the closer we get to Shaun's vasectomy appointment the more I want just one more baby. Maybe its just the mom in me, or maybe its knowing that its so final but maybe I might want another baby. But we're not and that's okay by me.

I realized my blogging has been seriously lacking lately. Believe it or not, but I've been trying to blog a few times already. Every time I tried the blog refused to upload my pictures.
I've also been trying to cope with the last couple weeks. A few things going on here and there that have been stressing me out. As you can probably guess Shaun's motorcycle was one of them. So I am just trying to get into the swing of things, and then I'll post some pictures, with the mighty blog's permission.

Motorcycle Wreck

As some of you have heard, I was sandwiched between two cars yesterday on my way to work. Somehow I survived this with only a sore back and neck. I was behind a car at a stoplight waiting for it to turn green when without warning I was slammed from behind. I figure the car that hit me was doing 15-20 mph because I was launched forward about 10 feet landing on my back and neck on the street adjacent to the driver of the car ahead of me. From my view at the time, the bike looked to have a lot more damage since I could only see the front end. Hopefully I won't have long term back or neck problems from this ordeal.

It has been a while since Liz and I went out on a date. We decided to give the movie Iron Man a try. I was a little hesitant since I feel that many of the Superhero movies as of late have been disappointing...all three Spidermans, both Fantastic Fours, Cat Woman, Superman Returns, to name a few.
Surprisingly, Iron Man was great. It wasn't corny like the movies previously mentioned. Liz nearly chewed my fingers off because of the intensity. I enjoy watching movies with her because of how involved she can get.
