Our Mardi Gras Weekend

Unbeknownst to us, the weekend that we just happen to be traveling to Columbus from San Antonio, and passing right through Louisiana nevertheless, was Mardi Gras weekend. We were stopped at a dead still on the interstate for hours not moving! So after trying to keep Isabel entertained and Ian fed and happy we decided to try a detour. The detour took us further in to traffic which had us at another dead still. I turned us around, and headed back. I was literally seething inside when I saw that traffic had picked back up on the interstate. So instead of driving on through we decided to stop at the next town.
We stayed at a decent place called Hollywood Casino. The next morning we decided to treat ourselves to a few minutes of warm sand and cool ocean spray at the beach only minutes away.
We kept thinking how Chico would have loved to run around the beach here. It was a fresh breather, but a sad moment of reflection at the same time.

Is it a Courthouse? Perhaps a Government Office?

Nope! Its a gorgeous, humongous, library! For those who know me well will know just how exciting this was for me to find out that this building that I first mistaken for some city building is in fact a three story Library! Half the first floor is dedicated to children with miniature sofa chairs, and a whole separate room for storytelling hours. Loooooove it!

A day with the Army of Four

I thought I would make up the month of no blogging by giving you more and more pictures with a much longer commentary. Here we have Isabel putting her yogurt in her hair. For some reason she has taken to putting her food and literaly coating her hair with it. Before this it was her applesauce. Maybe I see a Hair Color Specialist in her future?

Some how I managed to get my family shirtless. Its not that hot here in Columbus, though occasionally we would need to turn the fan on for a bit. I know for sure that Ian's excuse was because his clothes were dirty and I needed to change his diaper. Izzy's excuse is she is 3, enough said. Shaun's excuse? Maybe he wanted to remind me just how hot and smokin his body is?

As for Ian he has taken quite well to eating his Cheerios in the morning. I am so proud of each of his new accomplishments, because they seem to be coming so fast. He can eat all by himself, and can now sit up really well all by himself. He is getting so big and strong! Momma's so proud.

Of course the kids love to play together in everyway possible that hinder's Mommy's progress in getting the place cleaned up. Here they took the laundry basket from me and kept me from putting the laundry away. Who doesn't wish it could be fun and games every minute of every day?

Our Sunday Evenings

We've discovered that on Sundays, downtown Columbus is very quite. So we thought we'd take advantage of that by exploring the Riverwalk along the Chattahoochee River. Ian woke up from his nap, and it was too hard to not take a picture of his cuteness.
Isabel loves to skip and run away as far as possible.
She did once in awhile let us take a breather from chasing her.
Isabel has learned to ride her tricycle by the way. She is doing great!
A view of the beautiful Riverwalk.
Daddy couldn't resist, and of course Izzy insisted on pushing him.
It eventually came to this.
Ian says goodbye and love from all of us Peaches to you all Apples, and Oranges.

San Antonio

We enjoyed a fabulous day in San Antonio on our way to Columbus, GA. The weather was great, and there was so much greenery and beauty everywhere. Like drinking fresh cold water after being out in the desert all day.

Loved the Riverwalk the most.

The Alamo was fascinating.

The wax museum was fun.

Shaun ran into Johnny Depp while here.

Glimpse of the Future

Here are a few pictures to wet your appetite on whats to come.
We are in front of a Butterfly Arboretum! It was amazing and gorgeous!Shaun and Izzy taking a break from unpacking by hiding from me in the boxes. They think they are practicing to be homeless people.
